Best time to shoot a Cambridge engagement photography session on a Saturday?

Seven thirty in the morning is the answer. Totally empty, well, for an hour at least and then the tourists and shoppers started to arrive.

Annabel contacted me a few weeks ago about getting a Cambridge engagement photography session shot before her and Graham went to China to get married in August. They were both students from Cambridge and wanted to remember their time there so it was the perfect location before jetting off to Shanghai tomorrow morning.

Best locations for a Cambridge Engagement Photography session?

Their best Cambridge engagement photography session started off opposite Jamie’s Italian Restaurant behind the Corn Exchange. There are some lovely textured walls there and the light is pretty awesome in the alleyways.

Next Annabel wanted to have a few shots of her and Graham in The Copper Kettle cafe where they loved having tea and cakes. I took a creative shot from outside of the cafe with Kings College reflecting in the window, and getting a  bicycle in the foreground, more Cambridge gold layered in one photo.

Award winning Cambridge Wedding Photographer.

I actually got a Fearless Photographers Award for the next photo. This award winning Cambridge portrait was taken on the corner of Green St and Trinity St. There were loads of tourists walking around by this point, what Cambridge is known for really, so I wanted to capture that element in this shot. I got down low and took the frame just as some lads walked past. A hidden flash illuminated Annabel and Graham so they stood out and your eye is drawn to them.

After being kicked out of Trinity College we walked over towards The Mitre and Baron of Beef, a couple of charming pubs where Annabel and Graham used to hangout.Cambridge Engagement Photography
