One of my favourite locations in the UK to photograph weddings has to be my hometown the city of Cambridge.

The River Cam has a sense of serenity that only nature can bring, and the architecture in Cambridge is some of the finest in the country. Which is why I feel completely energised when I am asked to be a Cambridge wedding photographer for those who appreciate this stunning city as much as I do.

The River Cam has a sense of serenity that only nature can bring, and the architecture in Cambridge is some of the finest in the country. Which is why I feel completely energised when I am asked to be a Cambridge wedding photographer for those who appreciate this stunning city as much as I do.

Having been born and bred in Cambridge, I returned after many years in London to bring up my own family in this wonderful city. I’ve had the pleasure of shooting dozens of Cambridge weddings and Cambridge engagement sessions. If you need a little inspiration, I know Cambridge like the back of my hand and know all the great locations to capture amazing images.

There are several inspiring spots to have your engagement, pre-wedding and wedding photographs taken by a Cambridge wedding photographer. Take a stroll through Queens College, St. John’s College, Bridge of Sighs, The Mathematical Bridge and Riverside Walk (Quayside) for some exquisite sights and beautiful open spaces. Most of the colleges back on to the River Cam offering a unique opportunity for some couples to arrive at their wedding venue by a punt. Possibly the coolest ways is to arrive at your wedding by punt!

Award-winning Cambridge wedding photographer.

Who am I? I’m Jon Mold, a Cambridge wedding photographer for the past 10 years who has been lucky enough to travel to 14 different countries to capture amazing destination weddings. And whilst doing what I love, I am proud to say that I have been ranked as the number one Fearless Photographer of the Year in 2014, 2015, and 2016. I am honoured to have my work recognised and awarded by a number of independent bodies including My Wed, Fearless, SLR Lounge, WPS and This is Reportage.

So what can I, a Cambridge wedding photographer, add to your special day? I take the time to invest in the couples that I work with. I believe that the key to creating unforgettable photography is to build a great relationship with couples so that there is a trust and understanding. The more comfortable you are, the more natural and authentic the photographs. My photography style is creative documentary that is dynamic, fun and vibrant. Many couples book me for my epic portraits and expert lightning skills, all weddings will require lightning to be set-up at some point. If I am your wedding photographer you will be guaranteed that I can handle whatever light I have to work with, I pride myself on having the skill to capture the mood and ambiance of your wedding reception with understanding lighting. When I am not shooting weddings I run lighting workshops to train other wedding photographers.

Cambridge commercial photographer.

I only book a limited number of weddings each year, 15 maximum this enables me to remain super creative and energised for each wedding. It also gives me enough time to shoot commercial photography, corporate clients book me for headshot photography, event photography, product photography, corporate documentary photography, annual photography to name but a few. Being a Cambridge commercial photographer tends to be more technical and challenges me to continue learning which then benefits my wedding photography work.

Booking the right Cambridge wedding photographer.

When couples first contact me to photograph their weddings, I send them a number of full weddings to look through. When looking for a Cambridge wedding photographer it’s really important to look through a few complete weddings that the photographer has shot, only then will you get a see how they captured the story of the wedding day. When looking through a full wedding you should feel like you are at the wedding, the images should tell the story of the day and come alive with emotion. Once couples are happy they like my style, I set-up a free consultation which is an opportunity to get to know each other, ask any questions you may have and discuss your wedding photography requirements in more detail.

Cambridge wedding planner.

I have worked with many venues and wedding planners in Cambridge so I’m here if you need any advice. I’ve been lucky to be chosen by many couples to be their Cambridge wedding photographer.

As Cambridge is a University city, it’s probably not surprising that I’ve worked with lots couples that have gone to University in Cambridge and return to get married and have engagement sessions. I am privileged to be a Cambridge University Wedding photographer.

Although University weddings are synonymous with Cambridge, I’ve also photographed a variety of wedding types in Cambridge such as marquee weddings, garden weddings, barn weddings, winter weddings and same-sex weddings.

One of my favourite Cambridge weddings was Annie & Ben’s stunning garden wedding, their wedding was so much fun that was full of laughter and love. Here’s is what they had to say about working with me,

“Thank you so much! You’ve really managed to captured the day as it happened which is above and beyond what we wanted. Our family and friends have all said such great things about you and your photographs, it was an absolute pleasure to have you at our wedding. We’re all so amazed at how you seem to able to be everywhere at once, whether it be on the floor or silently wedged between church pews! Again, thank you so much for your work, we can’t wait to see more!”
