I’ve had the pleasure of photographing a number of Yorkshire weddings and engagement sessions over the past ten years. Some of my fondest memories as a Yorkshire Wedding photographer was photographing Theresa & Kenny’s amazing wedding at the fairy tale Allerton Castle.

Allerton Castle is one of the UK’s finest examples of a gothic revival stately home. Allerton Castle is steeped in history, previous famous owners include Price Frederick – the ‘Grand Old Duke of York, brother to King George IV.  Allerton Castle is a great example of a beautifully preserved stately home that makes a perfect wedding venue. Allerton Castles’ Yorkshire stone makes a fabulous backdrop for epic wedding portraits.

I have been lucky enough to photograph a number of weddings in IIkley, North Yorkshire. Here, I photographed Harriett & Alex’s beautiful wedding, the wedding reception was hosted in a marquee at Harriett’s parents home with the beautiful Yorkshire Dales as the backdrop. More recently, I photographed Hannah and Adam’s wedding at the exclusive Denton Hall. Incidentally, Harriet and Hannah are childhood friends, I am so lucky that many of my couples friends book me to photograph their weddings when their wedding day comes around. In one circle of friends I have shot 5 of their weddings, it’s a joy to catch-up with previous couples who I am honoured to now have as friends.

One of my favourite pre-wedding sessions was for Yuyang & Yang on IIkley Moor.  If you are planning a Yorkshire engagement session, I think the Cow and Calf Quarry, a large rock formation consisting of an outcrop and boulder, also known as Hangingstone Rocks on Ilkley Moor is perfect.
