At the age of 15, I had my first holiday without my parents on the Isle of Wight. Myself and a friend spent two blissful weeks cycling around and exploring the island.

At the age of 15, I had my first holiday without my parents on the Isle of Wight. Myself and a friend spent two blissful weeks cycling around and exploring the island. I loved exploring the beaches such as sandy Shanklin Beach, the seaside town of Cowes and The Needles, a row of three distinctive chalk stacks rising from of the waters close to Alum Bay on the west coast of the island. Ever since this unforgettable holiday, the Isle of Wight has had a special place in my heart.

I was so excited when Lara and Mike booked me to photograph their Isle of Wight wedding. Mike is a professional commercial photographer himself (www.waterlinemedia.com) so the pressure was definitely on! Lara and Mike were married in Bembridge church followed by a marquee wedding reception in the garden of Lara’s parents house. This wedding was gorgeous – the location, the weather, the scenery, it had it all. Being on a island with an unbroken coastline allowed us to capture stunning seascapes and a beach is never far away, a dream for any Isle of wight wedding photographer.

With its hugely varied landscape the Isle of Wight has something for everyone. There are so many unique places to host your big day, if you are looking for inspiration have a look at these stunning venues –  The Royal Hotel, Osborne House, Haven Hall, The Ventnor Botanic Garden and East Dene.
