“Jon, you are a MAGICIAN!! These are amazing!”
What an incredible way to finish my 2017, Aisha and Alastair’s ‘Devon-Christmas-Winter-Fusion-Wedding’ was incredible.
If that sounds confusing, let me explain. Aisha has Irish and Filipino parents, Alastair has English and Sottish parents. So there were traditional Barong dresses made from pineapple! Scottish kilts, a trip on the train, a pied piper leading the guests through Lympstone, two wedding ceremonies, the first of which was in Britain’s oldest pub, The Bridge Inn, Topsham. And to finish off the day there was a crazy Scottish ceilidh at Lympstone Village Hall.
Sounds like fun right? It was an absolute blast and an honour to witness such a unique wedding. At the end of the day, it’s friends and family that make a wedding special and it was heartwarming seeing both families celebrating as one. Aisha and Alastair got their wedding absolutely spot on, surrounded by their nearest and dearest, it was an emotionally charged rollercoaster with a sprinkling of all the different traditions throughout the day.
Huge thanks to Marius Tudor for second shooting for me. Below is a selection some favourites from the two of us.
