Dominican Republic engagement shoot, what a way to start 2014!
I’ve been waiting with excited anticipation for this destination wedding. James first contacted me via the Fearless Photographers directory after placing an advert for a photographer to cover their Dominican Republic wedding. He explained that they got over 80 replies to their request and I was honoured they chose me to document their wedding.
Meeting the wedding party at the brides home city of Toronto is was immediately apparent that this wedding was going to be epic. Janice and James are full of adventure, amazingly calm and I related to their desire to elope in paradise (I married in St Lucia in 2013).
Some 6 hours later after travelling by plane, bus and boat, we arrived at resort island of Gran Bahia Principe Cayo Levantado. To say this place was paradise is an understatement. It’s famous for being the beach in the Bacardi Island advert. Below are a few frames from a walk around the island one evening. The wedding was a few days later and will be on the blog very soon.

Amazing location and superb pictures. It must have felt special to be able to capture the moments before the big day and the excitement. They look very much in love and very comfortable around the camera which must have made it so much more fun for you.

Hey guys!!! Hard work, you got to be kidding. Seriously I was in my element. You guys made it so much fun. I’m going through the wedding as we speak and I am beyond excited to share it with you. But you’ll have to wait until you get back to Toronto before I post anything. Got 5,000 images to go through!
