I was lucky enough to photograph Christiana & Chris’s fabulous Greek Wedding at The Royal Exchange in London. I knew their wedding was going to be fun after I had got to know them when I shot their Holi festival themed engagement shoot earlier in the year. Their wedding was everything I love about being a Greek Wedding Photographer – 3 ceremonies, 4 different locations, Greek dancing and a wedding filled with love and laughter.
The traditional greek dancing was amazing, all generations of their family and friends got involved in the money pinning called the ‘ploumisma’ this tradition involved family and friends pinning money on Christiana and Chris. The tradition is meant to help give the couple a head start financially for their new-blooming marital life.
Christiana and chris also did the traditional Greek wedding dance, the ‘circle dance’, it signifies the unity of the newly married couple and the support & esteem their wedding guests hold in them. The best way to capture this beautiful moment is to get close and involved in the fun.
