Clare College was founded in 1326 by Lady Elizabeth de Clare (Lady de Burgh), a granddaughter of King Edward. Clare College is the second oldest of Cambridge’s thirty-one colleges, preceded only by peterhouse which was founded in 1284. It’s boasts stunning 17th century architecture and beautiful gardens, I can’t think of a more perfect wedding venue that’s so steeped in culture and history.
Clare College Cambridge offers weddings in the College Chapel to present members or Clare alumni on Saturdays during the holidays. I have been lucky enough to photograph the weddings and engagement sessions of a number of Clare College alumnus and alumnae.
Clare college buildings and gardens offer the most stunning backdrop for your wedding photography. It’s always magical to photograph a university wedding when the venue has so many memories for the couple and means so much to them, that always comes across in the wedding photography.
The onsite chapel at Clare College is beautiful, I love the way the light comes in through the window and offers a lovely contrast between the wooden panelled walls and black and white stoned floor.
I have been privileged to photograph many Cambridge University weddings and engagement sessions at King’s College, Clare College, Peterhouse College, St Catherine’s College and Trinity Hall.
