“Where do we start? I knew I would get on with Jon after just our first conversation from his energy and enthusiasm and of course having scrolled endlessly through his portfolio, I knew we had chosen the best photographer – but he managed to exceed all expectations.”
My last wedding of 2018 was a New Years Eve wedding at Leicester Cathedral.
This has become a regular for me, New Years Eve weddings, I’ve been blessed with capturing them for the last few years. A few more NYE weddings are linked below if you wish to see them;

But, let’s jump back to 2018, Nika and Richard found me earlier in the year and I was thrilled when they booked me as their Leicester Wedding Photographer. Another New Years Eve Winter wedding, woohoo!
The day started off at Richard’s parents home, a beautiful stone house in the Leicestershire countryside. Nika was there with her family and friends, it was amazingly calm and relaxed, here’s what she had to say;
“From the moment he arrived everyone felt totally at ease in his company and he was more than happy to get involved with all the girly chats between me and my bridesmaids, it was like he had been there all along! “
Kicking off with some bridal prep photos.
Richard was at their family home in Leicester getting ready with their 2 little boys, Harry and George, and his ushers.
“All of our wedding party commented on how friendly Jon was and how much energy (again!) he put into creating and capturing such beautiful shots and moments. He has immortalised the most special day of our lives and for that, we will be forever thankful!”
Nika and Richard’s wedding ceremony was at the historical Leicester Cathedral, this is where Richard III has been laid to rest.
Nika arrived in a Rolls Royce, her bridesmaid being very attentive and making sure she looked perfect before heading into the Cathedral.
We came out of the Cathedral at 4:30 pm, being in the depths of winter in the UK, there was no light so we had to break out the OCF lighting to do a quick portrait of the newly married couple. Then it was off back to Richard’s parents home for the garden wedding reception.
What I love about a New Years Eve Wedding is that you know it’s going to be a BIG party, and this was no exception. An amazing night with fireworks, live music, and incredible food.
Notes: Photography was by Jon Mold Weddings. He is an experienced award-winning photographer specialising in New Years Eve weddings. The setting was a Marquee wedding at Richard’s parents Garden. Their wedding was planned by Stone Events. Incredible live music by Fiddlin’ About. Stunning fireworks by CFX Ltd. I would like to thank Marius Tudor of helping me out on this epic wedding.
